It was hot. Mid summer’s bright blue and puffy white sky. There was a lake. Across the far bank lay a mystery — green, lush and calling out to us. So we waited in line and rented a canoe from the shore. Pulling into the clear, still water we stroked across until we had our answer. Deep as blue can be, white as snow, and rich green as life, we quietly scraped through our underwater forest.
